Description
Beetle, RARE Aprosictus dilatoscapus, Longhorn Beetle from Palu, C. Sulawesi, Indonesia 2/2022.
You will receive this specimen, or one like it.
The Aprosictus dilatoscapus is a rare and remarkable longhorn beetle from Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, admired for its striking form and extraordinary antennae. Each antenna begins with a broad, sculpted base that expands into elegant, fan-like segments, creating a dramatic, feathered silhouette unlike that of most Cerambycidae. These fanned structures give the beetle a sense of motion even when still, as if alive with the energy of the forest itself.
Its body bears a muted yet handsome palette of bronze-brown and earthy tones, blending seamlessly with the bark and moss of Sulawesi’s tropical woodlands. Rarely encountered, Aprosictus dilatoscapus is a living testament to the island’s evolutionary wonder — a creature both delicate and formidable, sculpted by isolation and time.
Beetle, Goliathus cacicus, Chief Goliath Beetle, Beautiful and very Rare Male Specimen, 62.7mm.
